Bengaluru International Centre (BIC)
BIC’s vision was framed by a group of like-minded civic leaders, educators, professionals, government officials, artists, academics and thinkers, who felt that Bengaluru deserved an institution that encouraged the intellect, facilitated an open dialogue and stimulated the senses.
Varanga Lake Jain Temple
Kere Basadi is a 12th-century temple, considered to be unique for being situated in the middle of a lake. The mulnayak of the temple is Parshvanatha, the 23rd Tirthankara. The temple is built in chaturmukha style, having four entrance and a chaturmukha idol with images of Parshvanatha, Neminatha, Shantinatha, and Anantanatha representing the four cardinal direction. The temple also houses an idol of Padmavati. According to beliefs, performing puja (praying) here brings prosperity. There is also a ritual for people to visit the shrine before marriage. As per popular belief, the falling of flower from the right side of the idol is a blessing. One has to take a boat to reach the temple. Anekere village of Hassan district has a replica of this shrine erected in the 15th century.

The programme at KAASH includes exhibitions, talks, screenings, discussions and workshops. The exhibitions are centered around a curriculum of heritage craft practices and design themes. Every exhibition is the outcome of collaboration between KAASH, designers, artists and craftspeople. KAASH delves deep into material research and experimentation to create new forms of visual expression and collectible craft. KAASH is focused on supporting – not just preserving – and developing the diversity and dexterity of craft skill sets that form the bedrock of creative India. Through collaborations with educational institutions and museums from across the world, we also research and archive the history and current state of craft traditions in India.

They excel at producing traditional bells because they value their social and ancestoral heritage. This gorgeous set of bells is the ideal household accent.
